In 1929 the Olmsted Brothers prepared a general plan for Indiana University at the request of the University President William Lowe Bryan. The firm worked on areas around the President’s house and created new walkways and pathways.

In 1929 the Olmsted Brothers prepared a general plan for Indiana University at the request of the University President William Lowe Bryan. The firm worked on areas around the President’s house and created new walkways and pathways. Working over the next several years, in 1932 they worked on the recreation fields “the section of the campus north of the baseball field should be modified in minor details to fit it to the various play fields…as to the circulation of traffic, I feel strongly that there should be no opportunity for cross-cutting the campus to the city traffic, which is now so bad as to become dangerous” [Percival Gallagher to Granger & Bollenbacker_04-07-1932_LOC-OAR-B-R-433_im.10]
